Meliora Cleaning ProductsThen we have good news for you! We’ve just certified the first MADE SAFE™ cleaning products in the world: soap flakes and laundry powder from Meliora Cleaning Products.

Why is this a big deal? Household cleaning products have come under fire in recent years for commonly containing chemicals linked to fertility problems, birth defects, increased risk of breast cancer, hormone disruption, and respiratory problems.[1] Laundry detergent in particular can be contaminated with 1,4-dioxane, a known carcinogen listed on California’s Proposition 65 list.[2] What’s more, ingredients aren’t required by law to be listed on cleaners, leaving consumers in the dark on toxic chemicals and how to choose safer products.

Meliora Cleaning Products was founded in 2013 by engineers Kate Jakubas and Mike Mayer with a mission of creating a healthy and happy home life for all – one that doesn’t rely on secret formulas and mysterious chemicals. After careful research, Meliora Cleaning Products developed effective products that get the job done – without compromising the health of families or the planet.

“Meliora is a Latin word that means ‘better’. Since the founding of Meliora Cleaning Products, we have strived to be a better option than conventional cleaners by using only the safest ingredients and creating the most people- and planet-friendly cleaning and laundry products possible. The MADE SAFE certification is a way to show this commitment and join a growing movement of consumer brands that puts people’s health first,” says Kate Jakubas, founder at Meliora Cleaning Products.

We’re proud to work with Meliora to bring cleaning products made with safe ingredients™ to the world!
