These are unprecedented times. These may feel like worrisome, upsetting, highly stressful times. Nothing is the same, and this is definitely not business as usual. We will all certainly be tested in ways we cannot yet foretell, as these weeks of being relatively “alone” in self-induced isolation persist. While we need to keep our physical distance to “flatten the curve,” at the same time, we need our communities to keep us grounded, balanced, and soothed. And our communities need us for the exact same reasons.
In the midst of the Coronavirus concern, good hand hygiene is more relevant than ever. We’ve covered handwashing and hand soaps, but what about situations when soap and running water are not available to us? In these circumstances we need the next best thing: hand sanitizer.
As the world watches the Coronavirus continue to evolve, one thing we know for certain is that it’s imperative to enact proper handwashing. That simple act alone can play an important role in helping to protect us.
What deodorant to you use? It’s a question MADE SAFE® staffers always get asked. And we understand why – the truth is that finding a safe and effective deodorant can be truly difficult. No one wants to use a product filled with harmful ingredients, but they don’t want to smell funky either.
MADE SAFE is incredibly proud to announce our newest and biggest brand yet: Seventh Generation. This is a project very near and dear to my heart, which you can read more about here. We have been hard at work partnering with Seventh Generation to help bring these products to life for about a year.
When I started MADE SAFE I wanted to help bring about change to the everyday products that we use and to the things we all invite into our homes. We either use these items daily or they are part of our rituals, but we hardly ever think about the impact they may have on our health or on the environment. I wanted to unveil the mystery surrounding these things and reveal the truth that, in fact, there is no single overarching agency harmonizing a sensible, precautionary approach to chemical use in the United States today.
What do we love about NUELE? A lot! The idea behind the company, founded by Dr. Christine Martey-Ochola and Anne Cheatham, was to make a hair product that nourished hair, was safe to use, could help women wear different hairstyles depending on the look they wanted each day, and supported local farmers and small economies through its production. That’s all pretty easy to get behind, right?
For The Biome is the invention of Paul and Barbi Schulick. Built on their belief that the world and its inhabitants are deeply and inextricably connected, they founded a company that focuses on the interconnection of life. Both Paul and Barbi are experienced meditation teachers so their website offers free meditations that you can get delivered to your inbox on a weekly basis, which is one way they are addressing mental health and stress.
