MADE SAFE certified products from Pleni Naturals are made without known carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxins, or other chemicals found to harm human health
Palo Alto – Pleni Naturals is leading the way in consumer health and safety by pioneering the revolutionary new MADE SAFE™ (Made With Safe Ingredients) seal. Products with this emblem are available on the company’s website and on amazon.com starting today. As the first nontoxic certification to apply widely to consumer products, the MADE SAFE seal empowers shoppers to find and purchase items that have been screened for chemicals known to harm human health and the environment. For the first time, people can easily find items that are safe for use on their bodies, with their babies, and in their homes. Pleni Naturals joins companies from across the personal care, baby, and household product categories to use this groundbreaking seal.
“I am thrilled to be part of the MADE SAFE family and knew from the very beginning that all Pleni Naturals products would be nontoxic and MADE SAFE certified. What we put on our skin goes in our body and I am dedicated to creating only the healthiest and safest products for children and their parents.” Allyson Owens Founder, Pleni Naturals
The MADE SAFE seal is an independent third-party verification that screens products for known toxic chemicals harmful to human health. Products carrying this seal have undergone rigorous ingredient screening to ensure they don’t contain known carcinogens, endocrine disruptors, reproductive toxins, neurotoxins, behavioral toxins, flame retardants, heavy metals, high risk pesticides, toxic solvents, VOCs, or GMOs, according to scientifically authoritative and expert lists from around the world. It then goes above and beyond to screen ingredients for bioaccumulation (builds up in the body), persistence (builds up in the environment), and general and aquatic toxicity with an aim to close data gaps, making it the leading health and safety standard in the country.
To start, Pleni Naturals has certified three products that can be found at http://www.pleninaturals.com/madesafe.
“We’re proud to partner with Pleni Naturals to give consumers a guiding light in the darkness around product safety,” said Amy Ziff, founder and executive director of the MADE SAFE certification. “MADE SAFE means ingredients have been examined to ensure they don’t include known harmful chemicals; this is the future of safe product formulation.”
Pleni Naturals was founded by skincare expert and experienced product developer, Allyson Owens. The Pleni Naturals mission is to create natural and organic skin care products that inspires a lifelong love of fruits and veggies.
Allyson developed the concept of Pleni Naturals to align her passions: skin care product development, nutrition (especially fruits and vegetables), and her two young children. Utilizing her aesthetician experience and background in skin care product development, Allyson decided to develop and launch her own line exclusively using premium fruit and vegetable ingredients such as raspberry seed oil, broccoli seed oil and tomato fruit extract.
The skincare line includes the following products for babies and children:
- Cucumber + Grape Baby Oil – This protective oil, brimming with nutrient-rich grape and cucumber seed oil, is the perfect after-bath massage base to calm, protect and soften baby’s skin
- Apple + Broccoli Hair and Body Wash – An easy-to-rinse wash that’s bursting with broccoli seed oil and California grown organic olive oil plus other natural and beneficial fruit and vegetable-based ingredients
- Berry + Olive Baby Balm – A velvety-smooth balm that delivers a nutritious dose of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids from organic raspberry and olive oils to soothe and provide barrier protection
The MADE SAFE seal aims to solve the chemical conundrum for people looking to protect themselves and their families from toxics in their everyday items. With scant legislation, little to no regulation around chemicals in commerce, and undisclosed ingredients, it’s nearly impossible for people to ascertain whether or not a product may cause harm. Until the MADE SAFE seal, no single trusted symbol has existed to signal parents that products are not made with chemicals that can harm their families’ health.
“As a parent, this is the seal I want for the products I use on my own body, for my children and in my home,” says Ziff.
“At Pleni Naturals we are proud to be part of a larger movement to bring more education and focus to the toxic chemicals that are in so many products and are proud to be MADE SAFE certified.” Allyson Owens Founder, Pleni Naturals.
