New MADE SAFE Certified Products from Muses

Muses Founder, Susan Rockefeller, and MADE SAFE Executive Director and Founder, Amy Ziff, have been engaged in a conversation over ingredients, the search for pure products and the need for integrity in manufacturing for years. As an advisor to MADE SAFE, Sue understands more than most the impact that brands can have by acting as changemakers and catalysts for a better future. She also knows firsthand how products can be part of protecting and preserving our entire ecosystem rather than the cause of harm.

That is why we were especially excited when Sue came to us with her vision for the Muses product line. They have function while adhering to important principles to “protect what is precious” as Sue has always emphasized. These powerful plant-based products deliver on all counts.

What has impressed us most of all is the dedication of the Muses team to adhere strictly to these beliefs with these products. Sue was resolved to use only the best farm-grade ingredients that would be pure but also perform, and the result is inspiring. We hope that you will have many a MUSES moment taking the time to reimagine your status quo and respond to what’s needed with Neck Potion No. 9.

We are extraordinarily excited to share these new products with you!

Q&A with Muses Founder, Susan Rockefeller

Why are you excited to work with MADE SAFE? Why are you proud of your MADE SAFE® certification?
MADE SAFE is the premiere certification for green chemistry, and I respect their thorough scientific process. I use organic ingredients, but want to have MADE SAFE certification to differentiate Muses from the plethora of other products on the market that are not as consciously crafted. Knowing that my products are MADE SAFE certified is a statement of transparency and proof of third-party vetting for any customer who purchases the products.

Tell us about Muses. Why did you start your company?
I started Muses out of a desire to create a product that wasn’t on the market. A product that could target back pain and overall joint inflammation with restorative ingredients, combined with aromatic ingredients so that it could be worn as a perfume. Both of Muses’ Neck Potion No. 9 products are formulated with CBD to assist with pain alleviation, are made with all organic ingredients, and made using the hemp mainly grown on our own farm or sourced from Hudson Valley.

What do you wish shoppers thought about more, and why?
I wish more shoppers thought about where the ingredients in the products they purchase come from, who made them, and how the ingredients were produced. Muses’ products are made with love and intention, and with the expertise of chemists and regenerative farmers to create a beautiful product full of integrity in both its ingredients and packaging. It takes a lot to bring such a thoughtful product to market.

Tell us about you. What is your concern around chemicals in our daily lives? What have you done to make your life healthier, and why?
Chemicals and plastics are wreaking havoc on our hormones and overall health—we need to return to a simpler way of life. To help combat these things in my own life and to live a healthier lifestyle I am trying to drink more water; walk at least 2 miles a day or get some sort of exercise (yoga or Poi dancing); give thanks for the life I have been given—I start each day with a gratitude reading from my husband; use my Muses Neck Potion No.9 to take care of my neck; follow a vegan (98%) diet; and simply do less harm.

Is there anything else you wanted to touch on in closing?
I am thrilled to be in an ecosystem of friends and colleagues who are passionate about regenerative farming, green chemistry and making products that are beautiful and vital to living fully and experiencing the magic of plants as medicine. We are so excited to bring Muses to market and to have received MADE SAFE certification for these products.
